Don Bosco College Golaghat led the Sapling Plantation Drive

6 June 17: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2017, the NSS Unit of Don Bosco College, Golaghat organized the Sapling Plantation Drive at Don Bosco College campus in collaboration with Parivartan NGO.
Together with the students and staffs of Don Bosco College Golaghat planted 700 saplings in the college campus. The SP of Golaghat was scheduled to be the Chief Guest and Fr. Mathew C Paul was the guest of honour for the programme. The NSS unit enacted a short skit on protecting the environment to create awareness on environment in the college. Mark Pegu a NSS delivered speech on World Environment day and highlighted some of environment issues that are threatening the plant earth and urged all the save the planet by planting of trees.
The principal Fr. Jose Palely welcomed the guests and motivated all through his introductory speech and urged all to take utmost love and care for the plants. Fr. Mathew C Paul, the architect of Don Bosco College Golaghat encouraged the students how to plant the saplings and nurturing them. And Mr. Leander Toppo, Director of Parivartan NGO emphasised on saving the saplings which are being planted and names of each students will be written on the tree so that it is their responsibility to save and nurture the plants. The best grown plants will be awarded with prizes and certificates by Parivartan NGO and Don Bosco College Golaghat at the end of the year.
