Fr. MC George challenges the pioneering batch of staff and students to set high targets

May 2: Fr. MC George Menamparampil SDB, Director, BoscoNet, New Delhi, visited the college and interacted with the staff and students. In his message he challenged the students to strive as pioneers of the college towards excellence and leave a high bench mark for the younger ones to imitate. If you set a high target for yourselves and the college, then the other batches coming after you will strive to excel and bring up the college, he said.

He compared the infrastructure and the facilities in the campus with other educational institutions and said that they are one of the few privileged groups of people to get such facilities and technologies at their service.

Fr. MC George has been a great promoter of the college and has helped to provide good infrastructure and facilities at the campus. Through his offices, he provided sanitary facilities, drinking water facilities, library books and computers to the college for the benefit of the students. He has been an ardent supporter of the college and has been also presenting the cause of the college to possible donors and well-wishers.

He is also providing the lessons and notes for the value education for the students. His visit coincides with his transfer to the Salesian Generalate in Rome to co-ordinate the works of fund-raising at international level.

We wish him all the best in his new assignment and accompany him with our prayerful support.

Fr. MC George also visited the Sacred Heart Convent and interacted with the boarding children. At 12.30 pm he left for Itanagar.

The Discovery Tour

A 6 hours discovery tour was organized on 17 April 2016 ( Sunday) for the students who had stayed back in the college, during Bihu Holidays.

The tour began sharply at 1pm,  when the students sportingly  jumped behind the college pick up van and were elated with  joy as if riding through Kaziranga Safari.

The first stoppage was at Rangajan Junction, where tea provisions were bought for the tour. The ride through Namboor Reserve forest was thrilling, as the van sped through national highway 36. In half an hour’s time the first discovery spot had been reached.  The Well know GARAMPANI water spring. Students had the feel of oozing warm water and some even washed not only their hand and head but the whole body.

A walk through Namboor Reserve forest was cut short by leeches, which were just waiting for easy prey to devour.

From Garamapani, the next spot in the itinerary was Deopani Durga Mandir, a redeeming temple for all who elope without the sanction of their beloved family members.

Other spots of discovery were Eastern Karbi-Anglong College, Hidipi Church , Sariyajan Retreat Centre and finally Silonijan St.  Peter’s School.

By 7pm tour came to an end, with students contended at having explored places hitherto unknown to them.
