D r. Dipak Dutta of SSK Civil Hospital, Golaghat promotes awareness on mental health to college staff and students.

Awareness on Mental Health under the Topic : Targeted Interventions at College was held at Don Bosco College Golaghat on 24 June 2019. The Program was organized by Dr. Dipak Dutta of the Department of Psychiatry, S.K.K. Civil Hospital, Golaghat under the theme District Mental Health Program, Golaghat.
Dr. Dipak Dutta interacted with the staff and the students. He spoke about various Mental Health Issues and he invited the staff and students to see mental issues as an illness that can be cured, prevented or controlled. He invited the students to fight against the social taboos and stigmas attached to the various mental illnesses.
The students, on completion of the input session, asked clarifications and brought about practical cases and sought help. He encouraged the youth to use their joviality and party spirit to bring back a depressed person to social involvement, at the same time, advised them not to even try once addictive substances, drinks, and other hazardous stuff. Once you try, it becomes more hard to resist the temptation to try again, he said.
In conclusion, he said that he too is a Bosconian of Don Bosco Dibrugarh and would like all Bosconians to avoid unhealthy practices and enjoy good health. Avoidance of fast food/ junk food and practice of Meditation, Yoga, exercises will help one to attain good health, he added.
