Cassone Global of Guangdong Province, China, visits the college


Nov 26: Mr. Toshy Manooran, Managing Director and Mr. George Mattam, Executive Director of Cassone Global Co. Limited visited Don Bosco College Golaghat along with Fr. Xavier Mattam to plan for the infrastructural development at the campus.

They interacted with Fr. Mathew C Paul and Fr. Jose Palely who had visited their office in the Guangdong province of China and took note of the infrastructure requirements which they can arrange.

This was part of their visit to the North East to study the feasibility of supplying quality materials at affordable rates to various institutions.


Fr NJ Joseph and Fr. Samuel Elow visits Don Bosco College

Nov 15: Fr. Nangachiveettil Joseph along with his Rector, Fr. Samuel Elow visited the college today. They were coming from Sechii-Zubza, Nagaland.

Fr. NJ is visiting the college a second time and was very happy to see the works progressing and to learn the the Semester End exams are going on.  He was on his way to Jorhat for medical treatment of his eye. On November 18 he will be celebrating his birthday. He was born in 1928. We wish him continued good health and lot more years of active involvement in the lives of the people. Besides many other good works, he has provided homes for many a homeless poor in the place where is is working.

Fr. Elow was visiting the college for the first time and was happy to see the construction works going on at the campus.

Fr Bimal Lakra Attends N&NE Region Xavier Board Meeting at Kolkata

Nov 13: Fr. BImal Lakra, Vice Principal and PRO of the College is participating in the Meeting of the North & North Eastern Region of Xavier Board. The venue of the meeting is Loretto College, Kolkata. As part of the programme, the members also visited the Tomb of Mother Teresa.

The main resource person is Prof. Dr. Marian Pinheiro, a NAC Peer Team Member from Goa, a former Dean of Goa University. He was also the Director of Vivekananda Institute of Advanced Studies, Delhi.

The meeting is from 10-13 November. He is scheduled to return on 14 November.

Principal & Staff participate in CBCS Workshop at NN Saikia College, Titabor


Nov 11: 15 Staff members along with the Principal participated in the one day workshop on “Introduction of Choice Based Credit System at UG Level” held at N N Saikia College from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. The workshop was organised by the Dibrugarh University for the benefit of the Colleges in Jorhat and Golaghat Districts. There was a very involved participation by all members present.

Dr. Rupam Saikia, Director, College Development Council, presented the Programme and explained in brief the first draft. Professor Mukut Hazarika, Dean, School of Education, Dibrugarh University explained the first draft document for introduction of CBCS at UG Level. The inputs were greatly appreciated by all the members present.

We thank the N N Saikia College Principal and Staff for their warm hospitality and making all arrangements to make the workshop a success.

Hostel students are given free computer classes during the exam days

Nov 12 : Taking advantage of the long breaks of study days between exams, a student is given a maximum of 3 hours of computer learning at the college computer lab. At present 15 girl students have taken advantage of this Opportunity. As they do not have basic computer knowledge, they are asked to Learn the Typing Master program and as they qualify themselves with ease of typing and basic computer management, they will be given training in Microsoft Office programs.
