Dr. Sadiq Hussain Trains the 1st students In On Line Registration at DBC Golaghat

3 June 2019: Dr. Sadiq Hussain, System Administrator, Dibrugarh University, visited the college to interact with the students. Fr. Dr. Jose Palely welcomed him and Jasmine Barla presented him with a Fulam Gamocha.

He explained and showed the students how to register themselves on line by registering a demo entry in the Dibrugarh University portal. He also trained the office staff who will follow the verification process on how to proceed with the verification process.

He spent an hour with the 1st semester students. Though an off day, 130 students were present for the training session.

Ten NCC SW cadets along with CTO Himadri Dutta selected to participate in the CATC Camp

13 Aug 2018: Ten NCC SW cadets along with CTO Himadri Dutta of Don Bosco College, Golaghat participated in the CATC camp program organised by the 33 ACTR NCC, Jorhat from 3rd to 12th Aug, 2018 at NCC Academy, Jorhat. This was the very first camp towards selection of eligible cadets for participation in the Thal Sainik Camp, 2018.  Jenny Barla, Amin Toppo, Clementina Toppo, Poonam Kharia, Pushpa Surin, Jagritee Sonowal, Romila Baghwar, Esther Kujur, Jonifa Ekka and Veronica Mao. At the end of the week long camp, four cadets from F/74 Unit was selected.  They were Jenny Barla, Amin Toppo, Clementina Toppo and Poonam Kharia.

The next CATC was held on 18th-27th Aug, 2018 at NCC Academy Jorhat. It was organised by 12 Assam (I) Coy, NCC Golaghat for all the selected cadets.  The 4 selected cadets of the college, Jenny Barla, Amin Toppo, Clementina Toppo and Poonam Kharia participated in this camp.

The next CATC was held on 28th Aug to 6th Sep, 2018 at the NCC Academy, Jorhat. It was organised by 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy, NCC Golaghat . Our 4 selected cadets Jenny Barla, Amin Toppo, Clementina Toppo and Poonam Kharia participated the camp.

DBHEI annual Conference and General Body meeting at DBIDL Dimapur

30 Nov:  The DBHEI Annual Conference and General Body meeting was inaugurated today at DBIDL, Don Bosco School Campus, Dimapur, Nagaland.  Fr. Bimal Lakra, Vice Principal and PRO is participating in the program today. Rev Dr. Jose Kuruvachira, Provincial Dimapur province welcomed all the participants. Rev. Dr. Marcelo Farfan – IUS General Coordinator, Rome was the special guest for the day. Rev. Dr. Maria Charles, Vice President, DBHEI delivered the presidential speech.

Fr. Dr. Jose Palely will join the conference on 1 December 2018. The theme of the conference is:  Nation’s Progress in the Constitutional Way. All the Don Bosco Higher Educational Institutions in South Asia are participating in this conference (30 No – 1st Dec 2018).  On 2 Dec the participants will witness the hornbill festival held at Naga Heritage village, near Kohima. We wish them all the best.

Four Asst. Professors from Don Bosco College Golaghat to participate at FORTE 2018

30 Nov:  Asst. Prof Himadri Dutta, Dept of Assamese, Asst. Prof Daisy Gogoi, Asst. Prof. Joyanti Nag and Asst. Prof. Banya Kasturi Dutta from the Dept of Education are on the way to Salesian College Sonada to participate in the Forte 2018 scheduled to be held from 1-5 Dec 2018.  It is a Faculty Orientation in Research & Teaching Excellence program organised by the Salesian College Sonada in collaboration with AIAHE.  We wish our participants in the program a great learning experience.


A Four day Retreat to be held at Don Bosco College Golaghat in January

28 Nov: A Four day retreat will be organised at Don Bosco College Golaghat from 13-16 January 2019. The retreat will be animated by the team from Divine Retreat Centre, Margherita.  We wish all the participants a time of great renewal.

28 Nov: Rev Sr. Rosaria Di Iorio, Mother General and Sr. Maria Fe Alonto, General Councillor of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist are visiting the CSJB communities collaborating with the Salesians at Golaghat and Rangajan from Jan 2-9, 2019. They will be visiting the college and interacting with the college community. We offer them Hearty Welcome and wish they a very happy stay at Golaghat. They will be accompanied by Sr. Motchapackiam, the present  Provincial Superior of the Indian province of the Baptistines (CSJB).

College week to begin on 9 January 2019

28 Nov: The College week is scheduled to commence on 9 January 2019. The chief guest and Guest of Honour for the Inauguration of the college week will be Rev. Sr. Rosaria Di Iorio CSJB, Mother General  and Sr. Maria Fe Alonto, the General Councillor of  the Congregation of Sisters of St. John the Baptist, from Rome. They are on canonical visit of the CSJB Communities.  This year the students will be divided into house system for the college week celebrations. Sr. Motchapackiam CSJB, the Provincial Superior of the CSJB sisters of Indian province will be the present for the function as special guest. The CSJBs are collaborating with the Salesians of Dimapur Province at Don Bosco College Golaghat. We extend a very hearty welcome to the Congregational Head and the team.

College to reopen on 3 January after winter holidays

28 Nov:  The college is scheduled to reopen on 3rd January 2019.  Fr. Nebu Mathew SDB, Provincial Economer, Dimapur province will give inaugural address. All the students are to report to college on the reopening day.


Career Trainees prepare collage posters

25 Sept : With the help of the career facilitators, the Career Trainees prepared collage posters. The students were divided into groups and were asked to prepare a poster each on various careers.  They were given materials to prepare the collage. The trainees came up with very creative ways to present the career of their choice.

Third Preliminary round for the Mr. Panna Memorial Quiz

28 Sept: Fr. Bimal Lakra organised the 3rd Preliminary Round for the selection of the eligible candidates for the Mr. Panna Memorial Quiz. The third round consisted in the written examination for the second 500 questions of the Quiz Book published by Dr. A J Sebastian.  All the students appeared for the written round.  In this way all the students were helped to improve their General Knowledge Base.
