Dr. Sadiq Hussain Trains the 1st students In On Line Registration at DBC Golaghat

3 June 2019: Dr. Sadiq Hussain, System Administrator, Dibrugarh University, visited the college to interact with the students. Fr. Dr. Jose Palely welcomed him and Jasmine Barla presented him with a Fulam Gamocha.

He explained and showed the students how to register themselves on line by registering a demo entry in the Dibrugarh University portal. He also trained the office staff who will follow the verification process on how to proceed with the verification process.

He spent an hour with the 1st semester students. Though an off day, 130 students were present for the training session.

DU Inspection team for grant of Exam Centre visits the college

21 August : Dr. Amitab Baruah, Joint Controller of Examination (C) and Shri Arinjit Hazarika, Dpty Controller of Examination (A), Dibrugarh University inspected the college for grant of permission for Examination Centre. The team was welcomed by the management, staff and students. They inspected the institution and visited the classrooms, library, and the facilities of the campus and interacted with the staff and the management.

Prarthana Borthakur, DBC Librarian, joins for the 5 Day Training Program on Automation of Library at DU

30 April:  A Five Day Training Programme on Automation of Libraries is being held in Dibrugarh University from 25th-29th of April organised by INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar Gujarat in Collaboration with Dibrugarh University. Ms. Prarthana Borthakur, Librarian, Don Bosco College, Golaghat, was selected to participate in the training program. Inaugural Sessions was presided over by Deputy Librarian of Dibrugarh University, Dr.Utpal Das.  During the Inaugural Session, Dr.Alak Kumar Buragohain,VC, Dibrugarh University,  Dr.Rupam Saikia, CDC Director, Dr. Maya Avasia, Librarian, Asiatic Society Mumbai, Prof.Prabuddha Ganguly, Visiting Professor, IIT Kharagpur and Raja V. Scientists B.,INFLIBNET Centre were felicitated.

In total, there were 39 participants, Librarians and Assistant Librarians from different Colleges of Assam. The training programme aimed at providing hands-on training to College librarians on how to automate different functions and services of libraries. Both theory and practical sessions were being taken by library professionals and Professors from reputed Institutes all over India were present. Technical sessions were mainly based on operation of soul software; practical knowledge is given on different modules of the software. Theory sessions were mainly on: copyright aspect in digitisation of print resources, setting up of LAN Network, Website Design of Libraries, and Detection of plagiarism using URKUND.

At the End of the Training programme, participants were given to fill feedback forms asking them to express their further expectations from such training programme in future  which is followed by valedictory sessions where participants were given chance to share their experience during the five day training programme, Group photos were taken and finally certificates of participation were distributed.

Don Bosco College Golaghat participates in the CBCS Seminar at Dibrugarh University

21 March: Dr. Jose Palely SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat and Mr. Harmeet Singh, HOD and Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce participated in the one day interactive sessions  for introduction of CBCS at B.A, B.Sc and B.Com Programme from Academic session 2018-19. The interactive sessions were organised well and there was a wonderful response from all the principals and delegates present.  Dr. Shrutidhara Mahanta and team presented details about SWAYAM.

NSS Volunteers, Martin Minj and Sushila Lakra participate in the workshop at Dibrugarh University

22 Sept: A 2 day training program was held at Dibrugarh Unviersity on Leadership Development and Enhancement of Communication skills to address the Swachh Bharat Movement. Two NSS volunteers from the college, Mr. Martin Minj and Ms. Sushila Lakra were delegated to participate in the said workshop.

‘The sessions were interactive and very enriching’, said Martin. “The aim of the workshop was to build leaders who will motivate their companions in the college to conscientise all to make ‘clean India’. Both Sushila and Martin were selected to go for a Documentary shooting at Banipur to promote cleanliness.
